Blockchain
A distributed, immutable public ledger that records all cryptocurrency transactions in chronological order. Each "block" contains a batch of transactions and is cryptographically linked to the previous block, forming a "chain".
The blockchain is the underlying technology that makes cryptocurrencies possible. Because every participant (node) holds a copy of the ledger and new blocks must be validated by the network, no single party can alter past records without controlling a majority of the network — making the blockchain effectively tamper-proof. Each block references the cryptographic hash of the previous block, so changing any historical transaction would invalidate every block after it. This structure delivers transparency, security, and trust without intermediaries.
