Why do crypto prices differ between exchanges?
Cryptocurrency trades on hundreds of exchanges simultaneously. Each exchange has its own order book, liquidity and user base. Prices can differ slightly between exchanges due to differences in supply and demand at each venue. Arbitrageurs typically keep these differences small, but they can widen during periods of high volatility.
What does 24h change mean?
The 24-hour change shows how much a cryptocurrency's price has moved in the last 24 hours, expressed as a percentage. A positive number means the price has risen; a negative number means it has fallen. This is measured against the price exactly 24 hours ago, not from midnight.
What is market capitalisation?
Market capitalisation (market cap) is the total value of all coins in circulation. It is calculated by multiplying the current price by the circulating supply. Market cap is used to compare the relative size of different cryptocurrencies. Bitcoin has the largest market cap of any cryptocurrency.
How often are prices updated?
